THE PROJECT
A house is more than the sum of the materials it's made from. It's a refuge from the outside world, a place to relax and recharge. It holds our most treasured objects. It's a place where we can express our creativity and nurture a beautiful garden. It's a place where memories, both good and bad are made.
But nothing lasts forever. Houses get knocked down, sold and people move away. Life goes on, but you can immortalise a place special to you or a loved one by commissioning Miles to paint it. Framed on your wall, every time you look at it, you will be reminded of that time in your life, and the beautiful memories you made there.
THE ARTIST
A place we call home is a project by Miles Noel, a Perth based artist, graphic designer, illustrator and photographer. He is fascinated by the stories imbued in the places we inhabit, and the power of nostalgia to evoke emotion. Using the delicate medium of watercolour, he creates an imperfect idealised impression, akin to how our memory records the warmth and character of places fond to us.
